I wonder if the grass looks better in the winter. At least there is the excuse that the grass is in its dormant stage. Yesterday during the inauguration, I was pleased to see so many people standing on the National Mall. At least you couldn't see the unsightly condition of the grass.

Speaking of unsightly things, I noticed the dress that our new First Lady wore yesterday. I guess you need to have lots of self confidence, or be the First Lady to get away with wearing a shiny yellow dress with pea green accessories. I have never had the confidence it takes to wear the type of fabric that instantly puts about 25 extra pounds around my thigh and butt area. Michelle Obama wore it proudly.
One of my favorite shows is Project Runway. This show uses progressive elimination to reduce the number of designers that start the season. Each week, designers are challenged to design and make an outfit that has specific criteria. The designers that do well get to stay on the show and compete the next week. I wonder how this outfit would have done on Project Runway. I can already hear Heidi Klum's voice....... "you're out."

The Queen's new clothes-What can I say? All of the commentators are so busy choosing words to admire Michelle Obama's apparel that everyone is afraid to tell the truth about her horrendous style choices that add pounds to her already bodacious hips. As for the lawn on the National Mall, I agree that it is a disgrace! The National Park Service is the culprit. Why can't they install a sprinkler system, fertilize regulary, or at least paint the dead grass green? Maybe the Park system is not the right group to be in charge of the Mall which is used so heavily.
