Today was our last day in Disneyland. I had nominated myself as the president of the Ditched in Disneyland Club... D.I.D. for short. As parents started getting "lost" from their group of teenagers I invited them to hang out with me. Some parents were even told to get lost and they joined up as well. One of the moms tried to ditch her teenagers so that she could just be with the adults. She didn't have adequate ditching skills, so she stayed with her teenagers all day.
It was a pretty fun day. I really wasn't ditched today. I invited myself along with Sarah's group for about an hour or so. After a while, I could see that boys just didn't feel as comfortable hanging out with Sarah while I was near, so I made an excuse and left.
The park was so crowded today that going on lots of rides was impossible. I did get a chance to go on Space Mountain, the new Toy Story ride, and a few others.
The choir sang in a competition this morning. They sounded really nice. Throughout this trip they have been going to workshops at different universities. They would sing for a music professor there and then receive tips on how to make their choir better.
At the last workshop they went to the instructor was just a little too full of himself. It was hard to listen to too many of his suggestions. When the choir sang a song in German, he told them that they sounded really bad, and that their German sounded awful. He then compared it to an Italian coming to America and trying to sing a love song. He sang a couple lines from a love song in an Italian/American accent and asked the group to comment on how he sounded.
Sarah D. was pretty embarrassed and she turned a few shades of red. Everyone around her was patting her and trying to tell her that she didn't sound that bad. She took it well and even laughed about it. The funny thing about it was that she knows German and mentioned he wasn't doing the best German accent either. The lesson learned here: don't make racial jokes to a group of people that you do not know. You never know who you will offend.
We leave tomorrow for the long bus ride back to Utah. The bus ride is my least favorite part of the whole choir tour.
