Sixteen Candles

Joe is 16! It's hard to imagine, but it is true. He will be getting his driver's license in a few weeks and he is excited to start dating.

As part of the big birthday celebration we went to the Mountain Man Rendezvous in Fort Bridger Wyoming. The sites there made our 2 hour drive from home worth the time. Next year Joe wants to fit into the crowd a little better, he says he wants to wear a lion cloth. We will have to see how serious he is about that. We passed several shops that sold lion cloths just his size, but I didn't see him trying any on.

It is surprising how many people come to Fort Bridger each year. A lot of them set up camp for the 4 day weekend.

We watched the Native American dancers. We ate buffalo, we saw lots of mountain men, women and their ferocious dogs...We heard great music!

When we were done seeing the sites, we headed for home to start Joe's birthday party. The BYU victory over Oklahoma was a very nice addition to the party. After the game, everyone headed outside to watch a movie. Everyone had a great time especially Joe! For his birthday he got a "Line 6" amp (his other amp just wasn't loud enough) along with texting, and a few fast food gift cards. It was a day of celebration!
