Yesterday I spent about 4 hours in my classroom. I put up new bulletin boards, moved benches around and cleaned a few things up. I feel as if I am ready for school and it only took 4 hours. In the past, when I taught 5th grade, I would spend weeks preparing my classroom. I would have a theme to the room and put student name tags on everything. I would then start copying tons of papers. I just have one thing to say, "I love my job."
Teaching music is great. The theme in my room is "music." I have 750 students, there is no way I could label anything, I don't even have desks or tables. I don't need to copy off tons of papers. I just need to know tons of songs and games. I usually have a song or two in my head, so this isn't too difficult. My school meetings start next week, I plan on using my time wisely and instead of doing crossword puzzles and sudoku, I will look through singing games.
I feel very fortune to have a great job which allows me to use my talents!

You might want to bring your cross- word puzzles and sudokus with you. Those meetings get pretty long and you would not want to become disruptive.
