While looking through the ads as the turkey roasted yesterday, I decided to go to Walmart for Black Friday. I usually spend a cold and sometimes wet night camping outside of Best Buy. This year it seemed that Walmart had everything I was looking for.
The good thing about shopping at Walmart for Black Friday was that I didn't have to eat pie in the parking lot while huddled under a blanket. I was able to spend all of Thursday at home, eat pie in the dinning room, and even sleep about four hours in my own bed.
We got to Walmart at about 3:00 this morning. I stationed the Sarahs and Joe at different locations. We hung out there until 5:00am. One disappointment was that I did not get the 50 inch plasma screen television. I am pretty sure that some of my competition this year was the Walmart employees themselves. I heard a day or so from a costumer service employee, that they had 17 of the 50 inch televisions in stock, and he was planning on getting one. When I got there I saw a sign saying that they only had four of the 50 inch televisions. What was also strange, was that I didn't see the customer service employee waiting for his television. When we got there all four of the televisions were spoken for. I settled on a 42 inch plasma instead.
After fighting the crowds for our television, computer, blue ray disc player, and sheets, we headed to the customer service desk to check out. While I was there I ran into someone I knew and they told me they had just decided against the Wii game system they were holding on to. It wasn't on my Black Friday wish list, but I was planning on getting one somewhere. We hauled our goods home, unloaded the truck and headed off to Target.
We got to Target about 3 minutes after they opened and the people were still in line walking through the doors. We got a few new dvd's and the Wii Rock Band. The Rock Band wasn't on my Black Friday list either, but for some reason it was marked down 80 dollars.
After making a few more stops and getting a few more things. We finished our morning eating breakfast at IHOP along with a bunch of other happy shoppers. Yesterday, while recruiting my army I happened to mention breakfast at IHOP.
We had a successful Black Friday. Sarah D enjoyed participating in the chasing and grabbing. She wants to come back to the States every Thanksgiving to do it all over again.

The problem with taking your kids with you on black Friday and then posting your conquests on your blog is that there will not be a lot of surprises on Christmas day.
You will have to come up with a crazy menu now!
