Today was Kathleen's 23rd birthday. It is a little weird that she is 23 and I am still only 29. Pretty soon we will be the same age. How strange is that?
Kathleen and Eric came over for a birthday dinner celebration. We had tomato alfredo, focaccia, salad, and Italian sodas. For dessert we had chocolate sheet cake and ice cream.
I always spend a lot of time choosing just the right gifts for my children. I start early and save things for months. It is always fun to see what things go on sale through out the year.
The vase Kathleen is holding here is one of my Target deals, and the book is a recipe book from Michie's Tavern which has some great southern recipes. In the picture above she is holding a relish tray, a pretty little platter and some pretty dishes and bowls from Dillard's. She is lucky to have them, I was seriously considering keeping them for myself!
I decided this year to get both Kathleen and Rachael some herb and vegetable plants for their patios. Fresh herbs and vine ripe tomatoes are the best! Happy Birthday Kathleen--I love you!

Strange about the age thing? Criminal is more like it. Didn't anyone notice that you were married at age 5 and had a baby at 6. I don't know about Utah, but that is illegal in Texas.
I knew that those were Dillards clearance tags on the bowls. What a great deal. Happy B-day Kate!
