There's No Place Like Home

It seems as if I have been away from home for a long time. The last few weeks of school were so hectic.

I did have a day in between the end of school and girls' camp and then another day in between girls camp and my New York trip.

I really couldn't do much cleaning when I was getting ready to go camping or when I was heading out for a week in New York, so when I came home Sunday night I knew that I would have my work cut out for me.

Marty and Joe kept the house up better than I had expected. I didn't have as much laundry as I thought I would have and the kitchen was fairly clean. I spent a lot of the day yesterday doing the laundry from the trip, vacuuming and mowing the lawn. Today I did the trimming. It is amazing how well the lawn can look when it is cut and trimmed by someone who is embarrassed to have the worst lawn in the neighborhood.
In this video, as anyone can see, my hula hoop was defective! It would only work for a short period of time, and then it would stop. I think that Sarah D's mom must have had a better hula hoop than mine.

The pictures that are above are from Vermont. It is a beautiful state. We were able to go to Sharon Vermont and visit the Joseph Smith birthplace. We also visited New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine. I got a shirt from each state except New Jersey. It was pretty scary driving in New Jersey on my way to the airport. I didn't dare get off of the road to look for a Wal-Mart. I will have to find a shirt on the internet or something.

The Statue of Liberty was one of Sarah Rose's favorite sites!

Our Laurel's class will be a bit lonely without our beautiful Laurels who have graduated.

It was a sad and tearful goodbye at the hotel when Sarah D. and her mom left to go back to Italy. The house is now quiet and lonely. I will miss Sarah D. a great deal. It's a good thing that we have Skype.

Was Sarah D's mom's hula hoop bigger than yours or do you just have hula hoop issues?
