We like to party, whatever the occasion! This year we combined New Year's Day and Kwanzaa together. Kwanzaa is supposed to be celebrated in between Christmas and the New Year, but since I am older than Kwanzaa, I figured that I can celebrate it when I want.

Eating black eyed peas on New Year's Day brings you luck throughout the coming year. Marty makes the black eyed peas every year, which proves how lucky they are... I don't have to cook!

This year for my birthday, Kathleen gave me a book that explained how to tie scarves on our heads. I think I may need to read that section again.

After dinner, we had a few speeches and played an intense game of Aggravation. Eric won, which was aggravating, because I was supposed to win! This was a fun Kwanzaa game which we will try to remember for next year's Kwanzaa celebration.
