Oh Rachael!

Rachael's cute little nick names:
Rad-o-potato-head
Rachael ann-g-o-plast
Miss Dinner and a Show

Our family gets to celebrate Rachael's birthday next!

Rachael was born skinny--I think she will always remain skinny. When she was a baby, she was always known to spit up. I remember always wearing spit up on all of my clothes. I also remember laying on the floor and lifting her up above me. Of course she spit up right in my mouth. I was not the only one this happened to, she did this to her dad and to her grandma.

I remember Rachael as a toddler. She was so cute! She had a face like a kewpie doll. I bought several kewpie dolls when she was little to always remind me of what she looked like.

Whenever Rachael would do something that she knew she would get in trouble for, she would say, "Mom, whatever you say, just don't say, Oh Rachael." I guess I said that too much...

Rachael always had a way with animals. Even when she was a baby, animals would come up to her (maybe it was all the spit-up) When she was a toddler, I remember dogs and cats running up to her and she was never afraid of them like most kids. While growing up we had dogs, cats, hamsters, and birds. Maybe even a few other animals that Rachael would sneak into the house that I never knew about.

Her love for animals even extended in the clothes she loved to wear. She loved animal prints of all kinds, especially cheetah!

In second grade, Rachael did a "Great Brain" project on cheetahs. Even though she never told me, I knew that whenever she blew out her birthday candles or threw a penny in a wishing well, she was wishing for her very own cheetah or flying pony.

When Rachael got older, she became known as our "dinner and a show." We loved it! Dinner time was full of laughter as Rachael reenacted out different parts of her day.

Rachael has always been an artist. She has always been creative. Whenever we would go on vacation as a family, and someone would see something really pretty, we would always say.."Rachael should paint it!" Rachael has painted waterfall, wolves, sunsets, landscapes, flowers, and much, much more for her family.

Even though she wanted me to get rid of her first painting, I still have them. One day when she is famous, they will be worth millions!

Rachael has the ability to see something that she likes and recreate it. I taught her how to knit while we were driving through North Carolina. She started knitting and while sitting in the back seat of a car and soon she was making her own patterns for hats. The hats turned out so well, that she started selling them.

Rachael is a very determined person. When she puts her mind to learning how to do something, she does it!

I have been very blessed to be the mother of such a wonderful daughter!
Happy Birthday Rachael!
I love you.
