We Almost Caught The Leprechauns!

I remember celebrating St. Patrick's Day as a child. Bonnie and I would always bake a green cake for Melody. Her birthday is the day before St. Patrick's Day. Ever since then, our St. Patrick's Day celebration has gotten bigger and bigger.
We don't just wear green on St. Patrick's Day we have a party! For dinner we have corned beef and cabbage and leprechauns bring us gifts. This wonderful holiday just so happens to fall right around spring break for Bonnie's family. They drive out here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with us. They also go skiing, but I am sure that their main focus is the St. Patrick's Day celebration.
We didn't start getting visits from the leprechauns until we had children. Megan and Kathleen were the first to dress up as leprechauns and deliver presents to the younger kids after they were in bed. The gifts started out as apples and oranges, but soon changed to dollar store gifts. Throughout the years we have done gag gifts like big lady under ware and shower heads. Whatever the theme, we always give gifts and have lots of fun. This year Joe Muir and Eric dressed up as the leprechauns. It was hilarious!
A few years ago, we had a limerick contest and the winning limerick was written on Joe's cast. He had 2 broken arms at the time and we as a loving family wanted to show him our support.
This year in honor of Megan and Chris, who are expecting a baby boy in July, we each wrote a limerick to help them in naming the baby.

Here they are:

Reggie by Eric
There once was a boy named Reggie
He grew up and always had weggies
To fix this bad habit,
He ate like a rabbit
And learned to only eat veggies

Clancy by Kathleen
There once was a boy named Clancy.
He mom dressed him very fancy
He said.."I'll rebel!"
Then thought---"what the heck"
then went to go and prancy

Geronimo by Chris
There once was a boy name GERONIMO
who was neither Indian nor Eskimo
His mom loved his name
but dad banned it as lame
in an act of family MACHISMO

Reno by John
There once was a baby named Reno,
He was Irish, he wasn’t Latino.
His dear old mom Megan,
Ate just beans and bacon
And Chris had to slip her some Beano

Hurley by Joe M. (with a little help from John)
There once was a baby named Hurley,
Whose hair was bright red and curly.
Resemblance is seen there
The milkman has red hair,
And lately Chris has been surly.

Riley By Deanna
There once was a babe named Riley
He was smart, happy but wily!
Being the very first grandchild
You’d think he’d be wild
When spanked he’d only get smiley.

A Lad From Kalarney by Marty
There once was a lad from Kalarnery
Who was all so full of the blarney
He could spin quite the tale
When his head was full of ale
Too bad it was about a pink dinosaur named Barney

Miles by Sarah and Joe C
There once was a boy named Miles
He pooped in lots of piles
When his parent cried,
You could tell when he lied,
'Cause he was making big smiles!

The Baby From Lansing.. By Bonnie
There once was a baby from Lansing
Any my how that baby could sing
We all called him Sawyer
Cause his dad was a lawyer
And also was known for de-pantsing!

Hahah those limericks are sooo good! I wasn't there the time you did it for Joe's cast.. I must have been in Rexburg.

I love how Joe is playing the recorder. Which limerick won? I need to know what to name the baby.
