Mawage, Mawage Is What Bwings Us Togefer Today!

Okay, I had to use the famous line from Princess Bride as a title!

Kathleen and I arrived in Florida yesterday afternoon. We are staying in a cute little hotel that is on Anna Maria Island. Anna Marie Island is on the west side of Florida on the Golf Coast. The Island is about 9 miles long and about 1/2 mile wide at the widest part. There are a lot of narrow places here where you can see water on both sides of the island.

We started out the day by getting all dressed up and ready to go. We left our hotel to meet up with everyone when it started raining. Soon we were soaked to the bone. There is a free trolley that runs every 20 minutes. We found a trolley stop and waited while it continued to rain. As we waited, I felt what I thought was a "warm" rain drop... I looked down to discover that it was not a rain drop, but a big blob of bird poop! This was no normal bird! This must have been some large bird like a pelican to produce something so big. My upper arm and shirt were pretty gross. I decided that it was funny---can't cry over bird poop-- I found about 8 or so large, wet leaves and wiped it off. I cleaned myself up better when I found a bathroom.

We spent the rest of the day with the family and had a good time looking around the island. When the rain stopped and it warmed up, I went swimming in the ocean. There is something kind of comforting about the ocean. I always feel at home when I am at the beach. Whenever I get close to a beach, I have to at least get my feet wet. Today, I was so happy to swim in the warm water! I hope to go swimming again tomorrow.

After the wedding rehearsal, we had a bbq on the beach. It is always fun to get together with the family at happy occasions!
