The Witch Is Back

I used this picture in a post last year at Halloween. I decided that it would be perfect for this post as well.

Teaching computers to 6th graders has brought out the witch in me. Last Friday I noticed a few 6th grade boys typing inappropriate words into a game that I was allowing them to play. These were shocking words that any normal 6th grade student would not, or should not know.

I spent the entire weekend making up a new seating arrangement and going through all of the programs that I was going to allow the classes to use.

As my darling 6th grade students came in today, they saw their names on a clipboard in front of the computer they were now assigned to. This just so happened be a boy-girl-boy-girl arrangement. I had the class do a keyboarding assignment followed by a 45 question science test.

I came down pretty hard on the whole class. I used to hate being punished for other student's bad behavior. I really had no other choice. Tomorrow with my witch's hat firmly in place, I may allow the students to do a fun math program.

I didn't wish for Beatles rockband.. I should have though. Poor six graders being punished.. That should teach them to not write naughty words though... well probably not. but hopefully.

Haven't you been known to wear that exact same costumes at some of your kids' parties?
