Sunday dinners are special at our house. I have tried to minimize the work that is involved in them while still offering a good meal.
On Saturday I started my country style pork ribs. These turned out really well. I made a rice pilaf that Joe and Marty really love, some Marie Calendar cornbread and a salad. Marty had made the Caesar salad dressing that I posted on the recipe blog a while ago and we still had some in the refrigerator. I was set.
Joe was given the job of setting the table. I was busy putting the ribs on a platter when he asked if he had the right container for the dressing. I told him that it was and we all sat down to eat dinner. Everyone, except Marty, who was out at Tithing settlement.
I noticed that the salad dressing was kind of bland and so I added salt to it. I thought to myself that it wasn't really that good, but I didn't say anything. I think everyone had salad except Eric. Everyone must have had the same opinion that I had. There was plenty of salad and dressing left over for Marty.
When Marty got home and was ready for his salad, he noticed right away that something was not quite right with the dressing. He smelled it and said.."this isn't dressing.. this is cream of asparagus soup!" It was indeed cream of asparagus soup. I wouldn't suggest putting cold soup on a green salad.
We got Marty the Caesar dressing and he was happy.
Happy until about 3:00 in the morning when he woke up with stomach cramps and nausea. Apparently the Caesar salad dressing should be eaten within 3 to 4 days after making it.
I guess that it was a good thing that the rest of us ate cold asparagus soup on our salad.

Haha that is so funny... I had to read this out loud to Taylor so he could have a laugh too. Too bad dad got sick from the real dressing though.
Cream of Aparagas soup dressing. I bet if you add some vingar, oil and seasoning to that it would taste good.
Uncle Marty must have a very distinct taste. That is funny that he was the first to notice.
