Creative Ways To Accept A Date

Tonight Joe answered the girl who asked him to go to Preference with her. This was a big step for Joe because during Home Coming I could not convince him to ask his date in a creative way. He called, or maybe even sent her a text, asking if she wanted to go. Tonight, he actually did something creative.

He used an idea that a young man used when answering Sarah D last year. He took a skein on yarn and wrapped it around several objects, leading the way to some far off distance. It took him about 30 minutes to string this yarn everywhere and finally get to his date's front porch. He tied a flashlight to the end of the yarn and attached a note saying, "follow the yarn for your answer." At the end of the yarn he had another note that said...."look inside the flashlight." Inside the flashlight he had a small paper that simply said, "yes!"

He only ran into three problems while doing this yarn trail. 1. The girl's brother drove up the drive way and asked what he was doing. 2. He tripped over the yarn after he rang the door bell and 3. The girl wasn't home.

I think it will still turn out okay. I remember when Sarah D. did this yarn trail. She had fun winding up the yarn, and when she got to the end of the skein, she was a little annoyed that she was holding the answer all along. Joe is hoping for a similar reaction.

There are a lot of cute ways to ask someone for a date, and some cute ways to respond. My favorite way to respond so far is to put some peas all over the date's front porch with a note that says, "I was so excited you asked me to the dance, I pea-ed a little." Maybe he will use that the next time.

If there are any other favorites out there, please share!

The Candy gram where you ask or answer using different candy bars to write a message is always fun.
