Go, Go, Go, Joseph!

Joe and Me at Brighton

Joseph was such a cute baby!

Joe's cute little nick name:
Joe Joe man

Joseph doesn't have a birthday at this time of year. He is the only boy and the only one of the kids not born in the spring. Joe is also the youngest. Some would say he is spoiled, but I don't think so.

Joseph has always loved life! He was one of the happiest kids I have ever known. Joseph was also born talking. I don't remember when Joseph did not talk.

When he was a little boy, he loved parties of all kinds. We had a daily party downstairs. He would pick a video to watch, have me pop popcorn, and he set up the pillows and blankets. We would watch a movie together. The movie was always a surprise for me! I was never allowed to know what it was until we were all settled into our party. (It was either Space Jam or Beetle Borgs)

Joseph has always had a knack for making friends. When I would take him to McDonald's to the play land he always left with a new best friend. He never knew their names, but he would always invite them over to our house.

When I would go to parent teacher conferences, the teachers would always say how cute Joe was, how smart Joe was and also how much Joe talked. I would tell them that we would work on it, but I wouldn't make any promises. He loved to talk and he was always had a lot to say.

While growing up he seemed to be accident prone. During 6th grade, he broke both of his arms at the same time. He was skating at his favorite place (he works there now) and won the contest of the "fastest skater." He skated so fast to the other side of the rink and when he had to stop himself, he put both hands out while he skated toward the wall. He won the contest and two casts!

He has broken his elbow and his fingers as well. He has had more stitches than all of the girls put together.

Joe now puts his energy into his guitar. He is really good. Maybe even the next Eddie Van Halen. He can be a little loud-- but it wouldn't be Joseph if he wasn't loud. He has the ability to play by ear. He will hear the song a few times and then he will be able to play it.

When Joe was about 5 he discovered his love of musicals. The first musical he watched was Joseph! We try to go see several musicals each summer. Joseph now likes performing in musicals.

Joe loves to read and is a really good student. He still has lots of friends

Joseph has always been an honest person. He hates to be in trouble. Joseph is thoughtful and kind to others. Maybe having all sisters does that to a boy.

Joe recently earned his eagle scout award.
It's a good thing I only had one son. I don't know if I could have done the whole boy scout thing with more than one son. It was a lot of work. I am including the pictures of his eagle court of honor below.

Joe the Eagle Scout!

Joe's eagle project was to clear a trail and line it with logs at Mutual Dell.

Uncle Bob spoke about the 100 years of scouting.

Taking the oath of an Eagle Scout

John sang as Joe played the guitar. This was a really big hit! Many people commented on how that was their favorite part of the evening.

This is the eagle's nest.
This is reserved for those who have earned the rank of eagle scout. I loved this part of the program. As each person took their place in the eagle's nest, they said when and where they earned their eagle.

Joe-- pinning the "mother's pin" on me. I worked hard for this!

I am pinning on his eagle pin. He looks like I might stab him, I didn't.

Joe-- summoning his eagle powers! Actually, he is thanking everyone who helped him along the trial.

We are very proud of Joe. We love him dearly!

You forgot to mention how muscular Joe is. Just look at those arm muscles in th picture where he is working on the trail for his eagle project. What hunk! No wonder he is so popular with all of the girls. We love him and are so proud of his accomplishments. I love his friendliness and his happiness.
