Joe Puked His Eyes Out!

Yes-- The title says it all. Not only did Joe puke his guts out, he puked his eyes out as well.

Joe woke up Sunday morning and told me he was not feeling well and that he had just thrown up. I recommended that he stay home from church and get some rest.

I called to check on him a few hours later and he told me that he had thrown up again. I came home to a towel covering up his mess. We have this little rule in our house.. if you don't make it to the bathroom, you clean it yourself.
I did help Joe a little with the clean up. He looked so sick! He kept complaining that his head felt like it was going to explode.

After taking a closer look at Joe, I noticed he had some kind of rash on his face. His eyes were really blood shot too. I just thought he was tired from being so sick.

After dinner, we noticed that he not only had a rash on his face, but that his face was swollen. His eyes were not only bloodshot, they were "Darth Maul" eyes.

Marty decided then to take him to the emergency room. After spending a few hours there and getting a few blood tests done, it was determined that Joe did not have strep, or anything else that was of a concern. The rash was thousands of ruptured capillaries on his face and the redness in his eyes were ruptured blood vessels as well. He had through up with such force that he "puked his eyes out!"

Joe was then lectured on the correct way to vomit. One needs to have their heart below their mouth. It is called "throwing up" for a reason. You don't "throw down." If you "throw down" you could expend some much force and rupture things. After the doctor left, Marty leaned over to Joe and said, "we just graduated from Puke 101."

Joe is feeling better today. He even went to school. His face should recover in about a week.

I guess Joe Muir has a nutural talent for puking since he didn't rupture anything last week. I can tell his head was over his heart because the splatter pattern was so wide that it had to be done at a great height.

this story kind of sounds like a dream come true for a teenage boy - if you're going to be sick, at least let it be weird and cool, right?
